Yes, 'writers block' has got me resorting to pilfering other peoples quotes.
Maybe is the brain freeze from Christmas, maybe its not having picked up my pen for a week. So I'm going to bore myself (and you, lovely readers) with a limbering up ramble to get the little pinkies twinkling over the keys again.
So, what have I been up to? You want the truth, you cant handle the truth!!

Actually, in the absence of anything worthwhile to write I might as well tell you about some films Ive watched recently:
Eragon
Remember the line from 4 Weddings? 'Is it raining? I hadnt noticed.' Remember how it made you shiver in embarassment at how cringeworthy it was? Well, imagine watching a film filled with that kind of dialogue and a 'male' lead so wet youd swear he was amphibious. Got it? Right, avoid this film then.
Crank
Complete farcical over the top action bollox, with cracking one liners, Jason Stathams superb delivery, and unbelievable premises. Brilliant.
The Mighty Boosh
Words do not do it justice. Astounding.
Resident Evil/Resident Evil Apocolypse
Well I thought they were entertaining.
Anchorman
It took a lot to surpass Airplane as the funniest film ever, but by the beard of Zeus this did it.
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Gay Perry, aka Val Kilmer. Robert Downey Jr. The kind of script Id burn my nuts to write. Great.
Lots more
Too many to mention - next up is Fear and Loathing, American Splendour, Happiness, Little Miss Sunshine.

Well, thats the popcorn stuff out of the way, so what about music?
Feeling / Fratellis
Equal joint favourite albums of the year. I think the Feeling edges it slightly though.
The Black Beatles mash up
To many people, the Beatles catalogue should be left alone. However, this mash up of them along with Black Eyed Peas, Ludacris and Kelis is quite possibly the best tune I heard last year.
There are hundreds more that are fantastic (Prince vs Scissor Sisters, Prince vs Gorillaz, Cure vs Warren G, Blink 182 vs TLC...hundreds). Find some here and play away to your hearts content.

And for the literary types:
Rob Long: Set Up, Joke, Set Up Joke
A clever book mirroring his real life attempts at getting his scripts piloted.
Neil Gaiman: Neverwhere
Not quite as good as I expected, but still mad enough.
Kazuo Ishiguro: Never Let Me Go
Just started it, so have no idea what its like.

Erm, so yes, thats what Ive been reading, watching and listening to recently.
Well, thanks for stopping by and obliging me with that little exercise. Its certainly helped me limber up my fingers - and without any catholic guilt afterwards too - so I can now let you get on with things and get some writing done.
You stay classy.
