Following on from my musings about 'having a shit', another phrase was uttered this morning which made me think -
"He had a face like thunder"
Exactly how does one come to describe a face in relation to a non-physical, sound based phenomenon?
What does thunder look like for it to be compared to a face?
I could understand saying "he had an arse like wind" for instance, but who coined this phrase first and why?
I dont believe its in my Brewers dictionary of phrase and fable, and I cant be arsed to look on tinternet.
