The vain baglady

by chrisglos @ Friday, 12. Jan, 2007 - 14:34:48

Hmmm, not sure of the logic in her thinking. But I love the irony, as always.

I was walking back to the office from lunch, and it had started spitting ("it's spitting, it's spitting!")

Across the road was a lady of a certain age, obviously extremely concerned of the hazardous effects of water reacting with her hair style. (Im the same)

However, her methods of ensuring the rain didnt ruin her looks and style, thereby keeping her looking well turned and smart, involved placing a Boots carrier bag over her head.

Not quite the right result shed hoped for Id guess.

Battles with the coffee shop Guardian...

by chrisglos @ Friday, 12. Jan, 2007 - 13:32:11

...I emerged from Cafe Nero this morning, scarred and bloodied but I vow not to be defeated.

A territorial and hierarchial war has been developing and gaining momentum over the last few weeks. My adversary appears to have staked a claim for a small inlet of land and tried to annexe it for German occupation. I feel this is unlawful occupation and they are disrupting trade supplies by placing their settlement within an area obstructing free passage and use of materials which should be freely available to all member states of the coffee shop.

The papers.

At present, the border is left unguarded still in the early hours of the morning, so with a well-timed mission across the border into the danger zone, I can nip in and out un-noticed and claim an audience with the Guardian.
However, if ill-timed then I either face comabt with the border guards or the paper is turned over to enemy hands for lengthy interrogation which lasts far longer than I can bare to wait around and see.

Peacekeeping talks have begun, but there appears to be no breakthrough as yet in coming to an agreement in sharing the disputed materials - even though the dictatorship often attains other hostages to interrogate first, and leaves the Guardian to one side, taunting it and me with the promise of delayed torture. There seems to be no leaway that the enemy are willing to concede, and reason is something far from a concept they understand.

I fear it wont be long before UN forces are deployed, and sanctions need to be imposed.

So far, Im keeping the occupation attempts at bay, and winning out most days. However, ones strength will only last for so long without backup and reinforcements. Help may be at hand from a member of the resistance who has infiltrated the staff, and are themselves aghast at the appalling disregard for human rights.

If I can win them over, and persuade them to work with me, then hope may be with me.

Good deed Friday time again!!!
