Toodle-pips for now, chaps

by chrisglos @ Friday, 02. Feb, 2007 - 11:35:31

You will be pleased to know that for the next few days you will be spared any requests to sign this, go there, read that etc. Or random surveys on whether you like cheese or not.

Im off for fun, frolics, festivities, find friends, fans and....probably other f's I cant think of for now.

Time for a little break from everything, me thinks, with the addition of alcohol and shopping no doubt!!!

I trust that after doing your good deed for today, and for those who are working, clocked off, then the weekend will bring you more delights than you can poke a pointy stick at.

Which only leaves me to go old school and quote D Mob and Dancing Danny D (way back in the day for those who dont know) - " It is time to get, it is time to get, it is time to get funky!"

And I havent even touched a drop yet. I need help.

The Hunger Site

The Animal Rescue Site

The Literacy Site

The Rainforest Site

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this:

Ah dear Blighty...

We may moan about the price of beer, the weather or how Eastenders is too dull or a myriad of other things. But its home, and its a relatively good one.

And the point is, we are able to use blogs such as this to vent our frustration and anger at not just the trivialities listed above, but to constructively criticise the powers that be, or even raise a question about why things are the way they are.

So using this freedom that we take for granted, its disheartening to be made aware that others arent so lucky, and are even jailed for merely questioning the state.

Please take the time to read this article about Karim Amir, an Egyptian blogger on trial for what he's posted online - it puts into perspective what we take for granted.

And please try to help Amnesty International, who are doing everything they can to secure his release - please help them by spreading the news in your own blog or as comments on others

Also please add your name to the following online petition that aims to help to keep freedom of expression:
