Films: Everyone else is doing it, so why dont I

by chrisglos @ Monday, 16. Apr, 2007 - 13:25:56

1. Name a movie you have seen more than 10 times.
Oooh, absolutely loads - Notting Hill (shame on me), Shaun of the Dead, Goonies, Anchorman, Airplane 1 & 2, Evil Dead (all 3), Withnail & I, and many many more.

2. Name a movie you’ve seen multiple times in the theater.
Do you know what, Im not sure I have. Need to think about that one.

3. Name an actor who would make you more inclined to see a movie.
John Cusack. Will Ferrell. Bruce Campbell. Simon Pegg. Erm, Julia Roberts.

4. Name an actor who would make you less likely to see a movie.
Oh god, loads. Tom Cruise (although I do invariably like the films). Sandra Bullock (see Tom). J Lo. The Rock. Stephen Seagal.

5. Name a movie you can and do quote from.
Loads, Im a geek. Withnail, Anchorman, Shaun, Airplane, Evil Dead, Four Weddings (is it raining?), most silent movies, Notting Hill, Grosse Point, High Fidelity, and so on.

6. Name a movie musical in which you know all of the lyrics to all of the songs.
Not as many as I think I do - I try. I guess Grease (a fave), West Side Story, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Chitty Chitty, Oliver. (a non cliche - a non gayman who knows and likes many musicals :) )

7. Name a movie you have been known to sing along with.
Rocky Horror. Marilyn movies. Rocky.

8. Name a movie you would recommend everyone see.
Only one?
Anchorman, Inconvenient Truth, Small Soldiers. kidding.

9. Name a movie you own.
Just one? Okay, lets get random here then - Bubba Ho Tep

10. Name an actor who launched his/her entertainment career in another medium but who has surprised you with his/her acting chops.
Justin Timberlake. Im gagging just saying it, but he was truly awesome in Edison. Mark Wahlberg is good too. And Ice Cube (well, in Boyz In Hood and Three Kings)

11. Have you ever seen a movie in a drive-in?
Sadly not. Have seen one at a 'walk-in' though at a music festival.

12. Ever made out in a movie?
Now now, thats personal.

13. Name a movie you keep meaning to see but you just haven’t gotten around to yet.
Pans Labyrinth!

14. Ever walked out of a movie?
Not if Ive paid - although was close to it on Hostel, not due to gore though, but lack of it and crap story. May re-evaluate when I watch again though.

15. Name a movie that made you cry in the theatre.
Schindlers List. Eragon, but for different reasons... :)

16. Popcorn?
Hell yeah. And pringles. And peanut m & ms. And minstrels. And pick n mix. And diet coke. And ice cream. And Kia Ora...ah that was a long time ago.

17. How often do you go to the movies
Every other Tuesday for my pompous Film Society nights.

18. What’s the last movie you saw in the theatre?
I cant remember - Apart from the foreign film nights (see above) I think it was Eragon, or Saw III.

19. What’s your favourite/preferred genre of movie?
Its the film I prefer, genre doesnt matter. Although comedy, horror or Asian (not strictly a genre I know, but they have a certain style).

20. What’s the first movie you remember seeing in the theatre?
The original 1970s Spiderman movie. One and only time my dad ever took me! On my own, think it was Ghostbusters.

21. What movie do you wish you had never seen
Eragon!!!

22. What is the weirdest movie you enjoyed?
If youve ever seen my collection, you will understand why thats so difficult to answer. Actually, if youve ever looked at me or read my blog youd understand too.
Um, Tetsuo the Iron Man, Bubba Ho Tep, anything from Jess Franco.

23. What is the scariest movie you’ve seen?
Very few scare me as a) im sick and twisted and b) growing up during the video nasty era I watched all sorts of sick shit from about 10 onwards. Being young though, a film caused mausoleum got me - mainly because the womans front bottom suddenly became a twisted mass of sharp teeth and bit off a mans wozzle.
The original Grudge (screw the American tat) got me too - in an atmospheric way (spoiler - especially the kid under the covers).

24. What is the funniest film you have ever seen?
Tough one, but Anchorman reigns supreme at the moment - probably a tie with that, Airplane, Shaun, Withnail.....and Eragon.

Things you never thought you'd read: Part 1:

Mike Tyson to make his acting debut in a Bollywood movie.

Is that four horsemen I can see?

Sigh...
