Why have they all got it in for Adam??

by chrisglos @ Wednesday, 02. May, 2007 - 22:05:42

I dont understand it, I really dont. And I feel very very sorry for Adam. Surely Sir Alan is playing a game and pretending to be led by the fact that Adam is pulled up each week?

Okay, sure, he overspent on the banner. Woopdedoo. But he sold. As did last week. And the week before. He spoke no French, yet was left to his own devices and still sold.

Week in week out, Katie has done nothing but have a bad hairstyle and be catty about everyone.

Paul was basically just a complete knob. And to take cash and carry cheese to France. Must go down in history as one of the worst decisions ever. Oh, and take the only other French speaker out away from the stall so they could giggle through the streets.

But its Adam I return to - every week that hes been pulled into the boardroom, its been blatantly obvious to everyone and their blind cat, thats its been purely for snobbery and personal reasons, masquerading as a question against his ability. Seeing as the idea of the tasks are to sell and make a profit, Sir Alan must be just humouring the others to even pretend that he has doubts?

I hope that Katie goes next week, shes an absolute waste of space with no benefit whatsoever. Im sure theres a bland horse and hound hunt event somewhere thats missing her.

Introducing......"One change Wednesdays"

by chrisglos @ Wednesday, 02. May, 2007 - 12:30:02

One change Wednesdays
A companion piece to Good Deeds Friday

Readers (yes, both of you) should be familiar by now to the concept of Good Deeds Friday, and its aim to get you to think about doing a little bit of good for others or campaigns etc.

Well, not content to just sit back and only bombard you lovely helpful people once a week, Ive come up with this new concept.

The idea is that each Wednesday - makes sense to do it then as Ive called it One change Wednesday - I will post a suggestion of something you (and I) can integrate as a change into our daily lives. Something small, something barely noticeable and that will not cause any real change to our routines, BUT will take one little step towards helping with environmentatl concerns, waste, climate, and so on...as well as potentially saving you a bit of money.

They will be small, and some may be blatantly obvious...like todays...but why not give it a go? Theres nothing to lose, and potentially alot to gain.

So, to start the ball rolling, heres a very very easy one:

Only fill and boil the kettle with as much as you need

It is estimated that, on average, we boil twice the amount of water needed every time we boil the kettle. Which means twice as much energy, twice as much time. With a 3kW kettle that’s the same as wasting the energy of around 50 light bulbs.

The Department of Environment Transport and the Regions said:

”...each time we boil the kettle we use more water than we need, we also waste valuable energy and contribute to climate change. On average, we could all save 90 seconds each time we boil a kettle – by putting in only the amount of water we need. Such a simple action would also cut household electricity bills – overfilling each time we boil wastes enough energy in a week to light our house for a day or run a TV set for 26 hours.”
