Together we are irresistible - together we count. Taking steps together we can do almost anything we choose.
Just as we have polluted our world to the edge of climate chaos we also have the resources and knowledge to save it. It comes down to what we want, what we dream of. If we choose we can make our politicians take the action needed.

Prince. 'Guitar'. Yet more perfection.

by chrisglos @ Friday, 15. Jun, 2007 - 12:43:08

Okay, so its not an official video.

But please, just for little old me, check this out:

(or click here if it doesnt work)

The guy is a genius.
If I look that good at 49 - yes 49 - Ill be well pleased.

And how good is that guitar. Oh, my, and indeed, god.

Did I tell you Im going to see him on August 3rd? No? Well I am. August 3rd.

I cant wait.

Pure brilliance, period. Nuff said.

Riddle me this....and this.....and this

by chrisglos @ Friday, 15. Jun, 2007 - 11:16:22

Riddle me this....and this.....and this

Riddle me this....
Im a strange man. Let me re-phrase that - if I sit down at a table in a coffee shop opposite from a gentleman whom Ive never seen before, nor, funnily enough, has seen me, then I am, indeed, a stranger. Unknown.
So, why ask me within 1 minute if I would keep an eye on his stuff for him (obviously against theives pilfering it) while he uses the facilities? Not knowing who I am, Im as likely as the next person to steal his stuff if he leaves it unattended!
Must be my backwards kind face.

and this.....
Why are retirement apartments so bloody cheap compared to 'normal' ones?
Surely the old buggers have had far longer to save for one than I have? bastards.

and this
the most recent childline adverts are airing, playing on the fact they are severely understaffed and can only answer less than a third of all calls to them. So, they are pleaing for donations to help improve this....
....and asking you to call them to donate...

(Oh and dont forget its Good Deeds Friday!!!!!!!!!!!)

Good Deeds Friday Part 1 - Click and Give!!

by chrisglos @ Friday, 15. Jun, 2007 - 08:52:13

Each Friday I urge you to click the links below which will help others at NO cost to you. The effect this has can be enormous the more of us do it.

- If just 30 people read my post today and click on the links, then we can provide a huge amount of help.

- If each one of you then passes these details on to 5 others, then think how much more we can do. All for no more effort than a quick email and a quick click.

-------------
"why not take 1 minute to click each of the following links and by clicking on the coloured tab you can ensure that foodstuffs, books, or care is donated to each of the groups. The sponsors redirect their advertising costs to pay for the donations instead….And it costs nothing to you":

The Hunger Site
For each person who clicks the hunger site, 1.1 cups of staple food stuffs will be donated. Yesterday, 146,8402 were generated.

The Breast Cancer Site
For each person who clicks, funding will be given for free mammograms. Yesterday, 5.7 women benefited where they would not otherwise have done.

The Child Health Site
For each person who clicks, vital health supplies and services will be provided for children in need. Yesterday, 1,520 kids benefited from this.

The Literacy Site
For each person who clicks, underpriviledged children in developing countries will benefit from the chance to improve their literacy. Yesterday, 831 books were provided.

The Rainforest Site
For each person who clicks, 11.4 square feet of Rain Forest can be preserved and saved. Yesterday, 1,024,244 square feet worth of Forest preservation was funded.

The Animal Rescue Site
For each person who clicks, 0.6 bowls of food plus care will be provided for animals in care. Yesterday, 121,162 bowls of food were provided.

------
It would be really great as well, if you could link this post in your 'bloglists' to get others to do their bit, and leave a comment to say ‘Ive been a good boy or girl’.
:)

Thanks

One Change Wednesdays

One change Wednesdays
A companion piece to Good Deeds Friday

Readers (yes, both of you) should be familiar by now to the concept of Good Deeds Friday, and its aim to get you to think about doing a little bit of good for others or campaigns etc.

Well, not content to just sit back and only bombard you lovely helpful people once a week, Ive come up with this new concept.

The idea is that each Wednesday - makes sense to do it then as Ive called it One change Wednesday - I will post a suggestion of something you (and I) can integrate as a change into our daily lives. Something small, something barely noticeable and that will not cause any real change to our routines, BUT will take one little step towards helping with environmentatl concerns, waste, climate, and so on...as well as potentially saving you a bit of money.

They will be small, and some may be blatantly obvious...like todays...but why not give it a go? Theres nothing to lose, and potentially alot to gain.

This weeks suggestion:
You can waste up to 4.5 litres of water if you leave the tap running while brushing your teeth - instead, use a glass of water for rinsing, or short bursts from the tap, and you'll only need a fraction of this amount.

Peace, we outta here.

Whatever happened to....

by chrisglos @ Friday, 08. Jun, 2007 - 12:25:29

....Russ Abbott?

Fairly random question I'll grant you, and don't know why I thought of it.

But I now have the answer. Hes actually in the toruing stage version of the Producers. And so is Joe Pasquale. Oh dear god.

Oh and he will be in the Wizard of Oz too. Alongside Gary Wilmot and Matthew Kelly.

So there you have it. We are now all up to date with the whereabouts of Russ Abbott.

Erm, yes.....hello and happy friday people.

Forget climate change....this is a more pressing concern

by chrisglos @ Thursday, 07. Jun, 2007 - 13:09:30

Forget climate change....this is a more pressing concern

Is there suddenly an international trade crisis in frozen cauliflower cheese?
Have the greenfly set up a militia movement to guard what they see as their cauliflower crops, to protect them against unlawful picking?

We need answers and we need them now.

For over a month there appears to be an embargo on cauliflower cheese in all of my local supermarkets. Whats happened to them? Why are they no longer there?

G8 - I demand you investigate!!

Make your own scourers with nylon mesh bags (the kind that oranges etc come in) stuffed inside each other and tied up.

Simple, eh? And makes use of recycling.

I dont think this needs any more explanation.

Just think of the possibilities...

by chrisglos @ Friday, 01. Jun, 2007 - 12:45:43

I read a few days ago about a guy selling his imaginary friend on ebay for £1500.00. Yes, thats right....his imaginary friend.

But why stop there? I feel hes squandered a major cash-cow opportunity...

...he could have offered two imaginary friends, for starters.
...or what about an imaginary ferrari. that would have fetched alot more.

Some people are so stupid :)

I wonder who bought him/her? And are they in safe hands?

The mind boggles.

Happy Friday
